Getting a baseline hearing test is a good idea at any age. You never know when an accident or illness could befall you that may impact your hearing. Knowing what your hearing abilities were when you were healthy is great information if something were to change unexpectedly. That being said, it is recommended that all persons have a hearing test starting at age 60 or sooner if you are regularly exposed to noise at work or in your recreational activities, if you have a family history loss or personal health factors that raise your risk for hearing loss, such as diabetes or high blood pressure.    Angela R. You can see an audiologist anytime if you don't have concerns and just want to check your hearing. If you have concerns, see one sooner.
