Why do I need a root canal?
I would think of a root canal as a routine dental procedure. I would think of it as if you were getting a normal filling that just takes a little longer. However you prepare for a filling is how I would prepare. No special preparation is needed. READ MORE
Do new dentures hurt?
This is normal. It is acrylic on skin which can lead to incredible sore spots. These can be adjusted away until comfortable. Discussion with your dentist should allow them to adjust as necessary until you are happy with the final result. READ MORE
Does my son need antibiotics after extraction?
Unless there is a current infection present I would not say they are necessary. I would discuss this with the treating dentist for more information if necessary. READ MORE

This procedure is in and of itself not painful because you will be anesthetize for the procedure. You may be sore for 3-5 days following treatment however. READ MORE

You can brush your teeth right away. It is recommended you avoid brushing the area of surgery however for approximately 1 week. READ MORE

Typically you will not be out under for this. You will be anesthetized so as to not feel any pain, however, you will remain awake for this procedure. READ MORE
How often should crowns be replaced?
This will only need to be replaced if they fail. A failure is characterized by a crown that has broken or a cavity begins to form underneath it. The average crown lasts 10 years in the United States, however, it is not uncommon for a crown to last 30+ years. READ MORE
How long should it hurt after a tooth extraction?
The worst pain is present on days 2-3. They pain should remit after days 3-5. Minimal if any pain should be present following 7-10 days. READ MORE
Is a teeth cleaning by a dentist necessary?
In my opinion they are. Your gums extend 3mm to where they attach to the tooth. The typical tooth brush will reach 1-1.5mm deep. This leaves 1.5-2mm uncleaned. Dental cleanings clean this area. Additionally it is good to get an exam during this time to catch any issues which may be present before they become a larger problem. READ MORE
How do you get rid of cavities naturally?
Unfortunately there are no ways to remove a cavity naturally. If it is small treatment with fluoride or silver diamond fluoride can stop the cavity from getting larger but this is only applicable in certain cases. READ MORE

You will only need to get these replaced if you get a cavity underneath them. The average lifespan of a crown is 10 years in the United States but they can last up to 30 or 40 if done right. READ MORE
