  • Why are my wisdom teeth growing sideways?

This is due to the amount of space available for these teeth to grow in. Many people do not have adequate space for these teeth which leads to them growing in at funky angles. I would recommend seeing an oral surgeon for extraction to avoid trauma to additional teeth. READ MORE

  • Why are my teeth becoming loose?

I would recommend seeing a dentist for evaluation. Often times this is indicative of periodontal disease. This is not a painful disease but it does cause bone loss which leads to tooth mobility. READ MORE

  • What is the procedure for replacing crowns?

It is possible to replace crowns. In my office the crown is remove by cutting a small hole in the crown and leveraging it off. The prep isnthen cleaned and a new crown is fabricated. Although the pain in the tooth may dissipate, the source of the pain will remain. The infection will grow. This can lead to loss of the tooth and worst case scenario sepsis which may lead to the need for hospitalization and in antibiotics and could possibly end in death. READ MORE

  • A huge gap in dental treatment. What should I expect?

I would expect there to be a full exam. This entails usually a full series of xrays (20 single X-rays, pano of all dentition, and/or CBCT), charring, gum evaluation, and treatment plan formation. Let them know your chief complaint so that this can be addressed first. READ MORE

A root canal will take care of the pain by getting the nerve out of the tooth. The bacteria that are present in the bone below the tooth remain because you do not typically reach this area with a root canal.
