My Diagnosis Story
What symptoms led up to the diagnosis?
I noticed when my son was a baby, he did not speak baby talk, or even sounds. His milestones were delayed, such as walking, moving, crawling, and potty training. He was very quiet and when he played with his brothers, he mirrored exactly what they did. When he was by himself, he would only line up his cars, or items in a single straight line.
What tests did your doctor do, and what was this experience like?
The first doctors told me he would grow out of it, so I kept going to other doctors. Then he had a MRI done, a hearing test, then finally a Pediatric neurologist.
Upon learning about your diagnosis- what happened next?
I cried the moment he was diagnosed. When I finally shook myself out of crying, I researched the subject-Autism. I discovered Autism covers a large array of conditions. It was scary.
