I am not an orthodontist, but as a general dentist, I do clear correct it is similar like Invisalign, and all my cases I accept are simple ortho cases such as aligning minor crowding and closing spaces. If you have severe crowding, deep bite, overbite, open bite, cross bite, and skeletal problem, you might get a best result with regular braces. I suggest you see an orthodontist so they will decide which one will be the best option for you.

Research has indicated that some people may be genetically susceptible to gum disease,” says the American Academy of Periodontology (AAP). Studies have found, for instance, that gum disease can be more severe in people whose cells produce a cytokine (interleukin-1) that causes inflammation, which is a genetic factor. This is only true if the patient did everything they supposed to do brushing, flossing and following their 6 months recall and still have gum disease.

The first 48 hrs make sure you eat cold food like smoothies, pudding, cheese cake, mashed potatoes, oatmeal, cheese and eggs. Those kind of foods help to come the inflammation down after extraction. Avoid spice and crunchy foods, roasted vegetables and meat. The healing process varies depending on how the teeth/tooth extracted. If it was traumatic extraction, the healing process will take too long and you might need to stick with the soft foods for a while.

There are different phases of tooth extraction site healing process or socket to level up with the adjacent bone. The first 48 hrs the capillaries will fill the socket and the bleeding will stop. Then 48-72 hrs and the next 4 weeks the fibers start filling the socket with the gum (soft tissue). Then, 4-10 weeks the mesenchymal cells will transform into bone cells and bone start filling the socket. The healing process is depend on the severity of the extraction, traumatic tooth extraction might take a while to heal compare to atraumatic tooth extraction. It is also true that impacted teeth extraction might take longer healing time due to the process of removing more bone to get to the tooth/teeth.

Different doctors have different view when it comes to removing fully erupted wisdom teeth. I personally defer from extracting them if they are free of disease like cavities, gingivitis or periodontitis, and not affecting the adjacent and opposing teeth. The patient oral hygiene and compliance to keep their 6 months recall are the other factors to consider keeping the fully erupted wisdom teeth.

Temporary crown can last more than a month if they are contoured, fitted and cemented well to the teeth and smooth enough not to harbored bacteria. I always recommend not to take too long to get your permanent crown because the permanent crown is more tissue friendly to the gum and does not come out easily since they are cemented permanently. It is also more easier to floss and keep the hard and soft tissue clean with the permanent crown.

Hello,
It is very difficult to scrape a plaque especially if it is calcified (calculus) or tart. It will be best if a hygienist removed the plaque. A good hygienist will give you also an oral hygiene instructions how to prevent from forming plaques in the future. Hello, I think it’s depending on your kid’s age. Usually by age twelve all primary or baby dentition should fall out. But there are always a variation, some fall out earlier than twelve year others might even be delayed more than twelve years. If the child having pain or not able to chew due to the baby tooth, it will be wise to take him/ her to the dentist to determine the treatment plan. Sometimes the dentist might decide to extract the tooth special if it is loose, imbedded inside the gum and there is sign of infection. Other cases the dentist opt out from doing extract because the primary teeth root is not completely resorbed, there is no mobility and no sign of infection so the tooth can exfoliate by itself which will prevent adjacent teeth from moving, and prevent future crowding
