It is possible to be sore after a chiropractic adjustment. We always recommend our patients ice for twenty minutes at a time as often as they can after their first couple of visits. All of the muscles and ligaments that are attached to the spine are getting stretched and pulled in different ways than they have in a long time, so they can get sore. Most people slowly get better with chiropractic care, some rapidly get better and then there are the patients that may get worse before they get better.
