“How do you know if your body is out of alignment?”
I am a 33 year old female. I wonder how can I know if my body is out of alignment?

Most people do not know their body is out of alignment until the body starts to hurt. Oftentimes, our body is out of alignment from daily repetitive activities.
Hi there, the only true way to know is to see a doctor of chiropractic for a spinal evaluation. You cannot judge by symptoms as many people have not only a misalignment but wear and tear, or degenerative change (osteoarthritis) at one or multiple levels and have no symptoms. This is a fact I have observed over the last 38 years of checking peoples minds which often include x-rays.
Typically a chiropractor will do an orthopedic, neurological, and chiropractic exam to determine if you are out of alignment. Often, an x-ray evaluation can be ordered if your provider seems it necessary.
Very difficult to know unless you're in pain. Go to a good chiropractor. They will check you out.

Great question. Most people find chiropractors because they are usually in some kind of discomfort. However, you can only feel about 6 percent of your nervous system so going off just pain is not the best way to determine if you are out of alignment. The best way is to have a licensed chiropractor take a look at you and even do x-rays if they feel is necessary. We see all kinds of interesting things on x-rays that we would have never known even with a trained eye.
Just to name a few of the conditions and if you have any of these, you should definitely see a chiropractor: chronic headaches, lower back pain, neck pain, knee pain, hip pain, frequent illnesses, excessive fatigue numbness or tingling in the hands or feet....
If there is any pain, stiffness, or swelling in the body, there may be misalignment associated with them. An examination from a Chiropractor can identify if the body is out of alignment.
I don't like the term "alignment." In my opinion, treating the spine is about function. Everybody's spine is different and responds differently. The goal is to make the spine work well within its own structural parameters. Stretching, exercises, posture, habits, and activities of daily living can make a difference. It is important to get help from a licensed professional. Doctors of Chiropractic (DC) are trained to diagnose and treat all the areas of the neuromuscular skeletal system and can assist in developing a program for your individual needs.
