Can leg length discrepancy be corrected?

I am a 27 year old female. I want to know if leg length discrepancy can be corrected?

Usually, most people do not "normally" have a leg length discrepancy that is detectable by the human eye, unless they have experienced a broken leg at some point in their life. With that being said, when one leg does show up significantly shorter than the other ... it is really an indication of which side of the body has the greater amount of muscles in spasm (which is one of the body's first responses to an underlying joint misalignment)! Think of it like moving the legs on a puppet ... in order to lift one leg or the other on a puppet, you have to "draw up" the string which is attached to the leg that you are trying to raise. Therefore, the muscles on the affected side, have gone into spasm, or have "drawn up"! It really is just a quick way to see which side is (more than likely) the more affected side!
It depends on if the leg length deficiency is an actual or apparent deficiency. In other words, an actual one would be due to a short leg since birth or after a growth plate injury when you were young. An apparent one is due to a pelvic tilt or other misalignment at the pelvis or knee or maybe even just a muscle imbalance. An actual deficiency is corrected by taking an X-ray and measuring the amount deficient and making a corrective heel lift or orthotic to level it. An apparent one can be helped with chiropractic manipulation of pelvis and/or knee as well as other physical therapy procedures. Have it checked out by a chiropractor to see what you have happening.
Yes, a leg length discrepancy can be corrected. A leg length discrepancy can either be structural or functional. Structural can be from birth, surgery or trauma whereby your anatomy has a change. For this type of discrepancy a heal lift, special orthopedic shoes may help even out your legs. An orthopedic consult should be considered. For a functional leg length discrepancy Chiropractic adjustments, stretching and Physical Therapy can help to relax tendons and ligaments and tight musculature that may drawing the leg upward causing the length discrepancy.
Yes. There are two types of short leg syndromes. The less common is an anatomical short leg in which is one is actually shorter by measurement. The most common is functional, i.e., acquired short leg syndrome and can be corrected without the use of heel lifts or special shoes. Acquired short leg syndrome's primary cause is pelvic and muscle imbalance. This is the realm of the chiropractor. I suggest seeing one.

Yes, a leg length discrepancy can be corrected. If you have a functional short leg, this is relatively easy. An anatomically short leg, on the other hand, may require a much more lengthy procedure that involves surgery.

Treatment for a discrepancy depends upon the severity. In many cases, a minor difference in leg length can be evened out by wearing a lift in one shoe. A child with a more significant difference, however, may benefit from surgery to make his or her legs the same length.
If is misalignment of the pelvis and adjusted or maybe a heel lift in the shoe is necessary with a true short leg. Dr Greenawalt.
A proper evaluation is needed to determine the cause and them the proper treatment.
Yes if the discrepancy is functional then it can be corrected. If it is anatomical, then you will need a heel lift or custom orthotics to create balance.
