Staying on top of your Oral hygiene!!!
When we place an implant, there no longer is a periodontal ligament to attach the gums to the tooth. So, we must floss all the way around the tooth. We must work the floss under the crowns as far as you can get it and clean out any debris. Also, a waterpik can be helpful. You just need to be careful to not turn it all the way up. Use the pik at about a level 4. And always a good mouth rinse three times a day would help to clean out those gums.

Under normal circumstance, the chance of having infection after dental implant is very un-usual. Assume that the dentist follow all OSHA regulation and protocol. and that the patient follow the proper post-operative instructions provided by your dentist. In some instance, your dentist may prescribe you with some antibiotics and prescription mouthwash. Please note that smoking and using tobacco products; consuming alcohol are common reasons causing post implant infection. Sometime, oral antibiotics may be needed
Brush, floss, use a water pick. Assure periodic (every 3 or 4 months) in-office hygiene visit.
Maintain good Oral hygiene
By cleaning your teeth and flossing your teeth and also use mouth wash.
Generally, the dentist placing the implant will place you on an antibiotic at time of placement to help prevent any infection from forming and causing failure.
