With this short history, more likely it is blockage of salivary gland. You have mentioned left side but in photo it is right side
It is possible that this is an infection of the saliva gland (parotid) but it also may be something more concerning. I would strongly advise for this to be evaluated by a doctor in person.

You appear to have a blockage or infection, or both, of your right parotid (salivary) gland. Make an appointment with your physician or ENT doctor. In the meantime, stay well-hydrated, apply warm compresses, and try sucking on some lemon wedges/sour candy to stimulate salivary flow.
Your parotid gland is under the skin in front of your ear. If it appeared overnight, its likely that the salivary duct into the cheek is blocked, causing saliva to back up in the gland and make it swell. This can occur fairly rapidly. Apply a warm compress to the face and 'milk' the gland by pressing on the face fromt he ear forward toward the corner of your mouth. You may have a stone or a thick blockage of the duct, and it needs to be drained.
If the gland gets painful and hot, you may have parotitis which needs antibiotics. It could also be a swollen sore lymph node in the gland, but at that size, I doubt it. If the mass does not not improve over several days, have it evaluated with US to make sure its not a mass. I think this is unlikely given its rapid appearance.
Hello. Thank you for reaching out. This looks like a swollen parotid gland, or perhaps a mass in the parotid gland. Massage, warm packs, and eating or drinking sips of sour substances (lemon, grapefruit (if you don’t have medications that preclude this), sour sugar free candies), and hydration are key. This should settle down within a few days. If it gets more swollen, painful, and / or red, or hot to touch, it may be infected and may require antibiotic treatment. If it does not become inflamed but it does not go away, there could be a mass. MOST parotid masses are benign, but a small percentage can be cancerous, and the only way to know is with a biopsy, done by your doctor.

I hope this helps. Good luck.
It is the parotid salivary gland and the duct is obstructed you need to see an ENT to check and treat!!!
Do you have a close up photo? If it was sudden, probably is benign, like an inclusion cyst
