The management of a bone spur will depend on the location, size and symptoms being produced from the bone spur. Proper examination by a medical professional is highly recommended.
Can remove bone spurs with surgery. If they are spurs for arthritis can clean that up as well, sometimes the spur is not the problem and it is the attachment of a ligament or tendon that is inflamed badly and thats what needs treated. I would recommend seeing a podiatrist.
I remove bone spurs through a small surgical incision approximately 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch long. I use a fluoroscope, which is a live X-ray to visualize a bone spur and a small power file to takeoff the spur. It is usually done with the local anesthetic in an office surgery room. Most patients return to work the next day. Look for a podiatric surgeon or orthopedic surgeon who is capable of performing minimal incision surgery.

ALL DEPENDS WHERE THE BONE SPURS ARE AND HOW MUCH PAIN YOU HAVE. YOU CAN TAKE PAIN RELIEF, FIND SHOES THAT DO NOT MAKE IT WORSE, BUT IF THAT DOES NOT WORK, SURGERY IS YOUR ONLY OPTION.
These can be managed conservatively most of the time. Depending on the location and severity. There are multiple conservative options that work well. Different shoes may help some, I can make custom inserts if needed, or could be something as simple as a certain stretch that I would recommend, these are just a few options.
Hello,
It depends where the spur is and what your symptoms are. Physical therapy can be an option. Surgery would be your last option. It is really hard to say what treatment/management options there are without more specifics.

Treatment for bone spurs can run the spectrum from conservative treatment to surgical removal depending on type of bone spur and intensity of pain
Bone spurs can be found anywhere on the body. Most people mean a spur in the heal, when the mention bone spurs on the feet. These are due to an abnormally high amount of tension in the plantar fascia on the heel bone connection, and over years will result in the deposition of bone, commonly called a bone spur. The spur itself is not painful, but the pain comes from the inflammation of the tissue attachment to it. Ice, ibuprofen, stretching, supportive shoes are common first line treatments. If the pain does not get better, see you doc for a thorough examination.
'Bone Spurs' is a waste basket term-a term misused and too commonly used by patients and other physicians. What you probably mean is 'heel spurs,' but you have not specified. An actual bone spur is often caused by a periosteal reaction of the bone, which stimulates new bone growth, often around a joint or a ligament or tendon attachment. Some of these spurs need to be surgically removed. Sometimes they are largely cosmetic and do not cause the patient pain. Sometimes you are referring to plantar fasciitis, which actually has nothing to do with the bone spur associated with that pathology.
