I'm sure you've heard of lactose intolerance. Lactase is an enzyme that we produce and sits on the lining of our intestines til lactose wanders by and gets digested. When we have diarrhea, for any reason, that lactase enzymes gets washed away. So we need time to build up that puddle of lactase enzyme again. Until that happens, everything that has dairy in (as an ingredient even) can cause a cycle of diarrhea. Try taking some lactase supplements (Lactaid) prior to eating each meal, and also a probiotic to balance out your gut bacteria.
First of all, you need to be evaluated to pinpoint the cause of diarrhea. There are many different medical conditions that may cause diarrhea including gastritis, colitis, intestinitis, Crohn disease, gut bacteria imbalance, ulcerative colitis, leaky gut, gluten intolerance, IBS, and even cancer. The proper treatment can be chosen after the diagnostic is completed. For the majority of forms of diarrhea natural medicine has an answer. You want to change your diet and cut out caffeine and probably see a gastroenterologist to see why you have diarrhea.
There are various herbs that can be used to treat diarrhea. However, in my private practice, I'm likely to do a comprehensive medical intake, followed by speciality labs, in order to determine the cause of the diarrhea and the best and least invasive ways to treat it.
I did a whole webinar on this! Here's the link for some tips: https://us02web.zoom.us/rec/play/tcUrJL-h-m03SYaW4QSDBPB8W425Lvis0Xcb_KVczRq1USIANQH1NbQbNOczIB2p5G40P7x85kpdI4dG
Hello! I'm sorry you're coping with this frustrating condition. Without knowing more about your background, it's hard for me to give recommendations about supplements and such. Typically, diarrhea is a result of either a virus, diet, or stress. I would recommend evaluating your diet - are you consuming a lot of processed/fast foods? Alcohol? Then, think about your lifestyle - are you under a lot of stress? Finally, consider any other symptoms you may be experiencing - fever, loss of appetite, lethargy, muscle spasms/weakness. While experiencing these symptoms, be sure to stay well hydrated and keep your electrolyte balance in check! A simple BRAT (banana, rice, applesauce, toast) is best while staying away from any liquids except possible light bone broth and water. If your symptoms persist, contact your GP. Best of luck!
Diarrhea is frequent or loose bowel movement defined by more frequent and more softer or liquid compared to your baseline normal. IF you are able to identify an inciting event like food poisoning, keeping yourself hydrated maybe all that is needed. But if you find blood or if diarrhea does not resolve with hydration or you become dizzy or lightheaded, it is important to seek medical attention and not self treat.
OTC diarrhea medications are only for symptomatic treatment and do not cure any infection.

Many illnesses can cause diarrhea. The best strategy to treat diarrhea is identify the cause. You should speak to your primary care provider to identify the best treatment options.

More information is required. Diarrhea has a super fast transit time in the digestive tract, which could be attributed to a number of imbalances. Fiber can temporarily support the bulk in the colon. However, if you have experienced diarrhea over a long period time, it is recommended you consult your health care provider.
Diarrhea can be caused by any number of things: food allergy and/or sensitivities; microbial overgrowth or infections; irritable bowel syndrome or disease; taking an excess of Vitamin C or magnesium supplementation; and some medications.
It is best to discuss with your care provider or seek medical attention if symptoms of diarrhea last longer than 7 days.
