This will depend on the root cause of the anxiety. Cognitive Therapy or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy(CBT) are the most common therapy modalities used, however, I recommend you work with your mental health practitioner to decide which modality works best for you.

The best type of therapy for anxiety is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). It allows you to observe your behaviors and challenge your thoughts. Having anxiety can be overwhelming, but the good news is that it's one of the easiest mental issues to resolve. Find a good doctor of psychology to help you.

There are a lot of treatments for anxiety but the "best" one is evidenced based. One that has a lot of supported publications and research to ensure success.
The person asked what was the best therapy for anxiety. In my opinion, I would mention two things. First is the three A's, i.e., "Activity absorbs anxiety." Activity of any kind, even exercise, would benefit. Second is a medication that would reduce anxiety. My favorites are generic Lexapro and Zoloft. Buspar is an interesting alternative. Sometimes it doesn't have any effect for some patients, but for others it is the best. Avoid benzo's which are addictive. Lastly, have some psychotherapy. Jack L. Underwood, M.D.
