I am a 29 year old male. I wonder why does my ear hurt after using a q-tip?

You may be pushing wax back into the canal or damaging the delicate skin of the canal.
Hello there, hopefully the pain is not an indication that you went too far with the Qtip and caused damage to your ear canal or worse, your eardrum. Please get the ear checked ASAP and DO NOT put anything else in it in the meantime!
Could be a number of reasons. If you have occluding wax, you may be pushing on it and putting pressure on the ear canal. Stop using q-tips temporarily if it hurts. Clean the outside of the ear with a q-tip or towel after getting out of shower.
