Going to the gym has nothing to do with your implant as long as you do not feel pain and you do not crunch down and bite your teeth while doing gym things. Since you have been 2 weeks since the implant your body has overcome any affects of the oral surgery. Wait 6 to 8 weeks after surgery and make sure your bite is even (let your dentist check on this) before you bite down hard during gym exercises. Make sure to keep the area around the implant very very clean in accordance with your dentist's instructions on oral hygiene. DENTIST

Use a soft tooth brush or get an oscillating soft toothbrush that is battery powered. Another idea is to get a waterpik type of toothbrush and water jet. Put the waterpik/toothbrush at its lowest setting. Use a nonabrasive toothpaste made for helping the gingiva (gums). Avoid tobacco products and excessive alcohol. If your gums swell all over than that might be an allergic reaction. If the swelling is around the tooth you had your crown fitted then it might be excess cement or the crown is too long. Your dentist can adjust and remove excess cement and check the occlusion (bite) of the crown. Otherwise the swelling should have gone away by now. If not, check with your dentist. DENTIST

If bone loss occurs, seek professional advice on getting bone grafts if necessary, and rely on your dentist to monitor your dental health and suggest other treatments. Also, use a soft toothbrush and do not use whitening (abrasive type) toothpaste. Check out your brushing habits and method with your dental hygienist and dentist. Without knowing the extent, purpose, and reason for your jaw surgery, it can only be said that a competent surgeon will do everything in his/her power to insure a successful outcome. Listen carefully to what the surgeon tells you to do before and after surgery and comply with the instructions. Many minor problems can be repaired on the denture, and a reline can restore the exact fit of the denture with your gums so that there will not be any irritating spots, if the dentist finds any such irritation. Just as you must change the tires when they wear out, sometimes a hard wear on your partial denture may require its complete replacement. Your dentist will assess the condition of your partial and will recommend whatever needs to be done to optimize your dental health. If one or more natural teeth are supporting the denture, the dentist will also determine if any changes or restorations must occur due to the condition of the teeth. DENTIST
