If the Chiropractor detected a subtle misalignment or lack of motion in a vertebrae, that may be causing irritation to the joint and surrounding musculature, that may be causing pain. Manipulation of the joint (cracking it) can help to restore the normal alignment and/or motion to the affected joint. This is usually one of the most effective treatments of back pain.

Hello. Pelvic manipulation is quite simply manipulation of the joints of the pelvis. The bones of the pelvis are the 2 iliac bones and the sacrum between. The joints between the iliacs and the sacrum are called the sacroiliac joints and the joint between the iliacs in the front is called the symphysis pubis or"pubic bone". There are three joints in the pelvis which may be manipulated to correct any misalignment of those joints. Generally misalignment of any of those joints can have an effect on the surrounding or connected musculature.

One way to perform self-manipulation to your lower back is to lie on your back, bend your knees and let your knees and hips rotate from one side to the other. This is called a spinal twist. Sometimes the spine will "crack"
when performing this maneuver. People generally get more effective "cracks" when a health care provider performs a manipulation.

Most people come in for examination and treatment when they get some symptom such as back or neck pain. However, the best time to get examined is before the symptoms begin. Many of my patients will bring their children in for an exam once the become aware of the benefits of a chiropractic adjustment. Only after an exam can a Chiropractor determine if an
adjustment is necessary. Some Chiropractors specialize in pediatrics. It is never too early to be checked for misalignments. The earlier detected, the better.

Hello,
A tight neck can have many causes. It may be related to overuse from activity or from increased tone in the muscles from abnormal stress due to improper posture. Stress due to abnormal joint biomechanics or mental stress can cause the neck muscles including the trapezius to become tighter than normal. Misalignment of the neck or upper back vertebrae can also cause reflexive tightening of the associated neck muscles. Try stretching and moist heat to relax the muscles. If this is not effective, see a chiropractic physician to get an examination to determine the actual cause and treat appropriately.
I hope this information helps.

There are many different benefits depending on what types of treatment are being performed. Chiropractors perform many types of treatment from vertebral and joint manipulation, muscle work such as stretching, massage, trigger point therapy, balancing and strengthening. They also perform services such as acupuncture and nutritional therapy. But the single most
beneficial treatment is designed to reduce nervous system interference through the reduction of spinal misalignment. The nervous system controls all functions in the body and reducing irritations to that system helps the body to function at its best. I have treated patients with symptoms from headaches to constipation. Chiropractic works. In my clinic, we have chiropractors, physical therapists and medical doctors working together as a team to get the best results possible without surgery.
I hope this answers your question.

Chiropractors can absolutely help with muscle knots. Muscle knots usually occur from either direct trauma to the muscle such as a contusion or a strain or cumulative tension from being too tight for too long. Irritation of the nerve that innervates the muscle is one reason for increased muscular tone. The Chiropractic physician should find the cause of the increased tension in the muscle and resolve that problem through a combination of stretching, muscle balance work and manipulation of the corresponding joints to decrease the muscle tone.

Hello,
The only way to get rid of lower back pain is to determine the actual cause and correct it if possible. Make an appointment with a Chiropractic physician first. They are the most conservative treatment providers and you should get an accurate diagnosis of the actual cause between the examination and some X-rays. If your condition is a little more complicated, an MRI may be ordered to visualize your lumbar discs. The course of treatment will probably consist of Manipulation (if appropriate), stretching, muscle work and strengthening the core muscles. Manipulation is the most effective treatment for most cases of chronic lower back pain. The Chiropractor may also have you do some physical therapy. If the condition is not responding appropriately, you may be referred to a pain treatment physician for injections to reduce the inflammation or an Orthopedic surgeon if surgery is necessary. Try Chiropractic first.

It is very important to accurately diagnose the cause of a headache to treat it effectively. Headaches can be caused by many different things. They can arise from muscle tension, vascular issues, hormonal changes, sinus problems, brain pathology or even dietary sensitivities. If headaches are chronic, a MRI of the brain and cervical spine should be performed to rule out any problems with the brain, sinus, TMJ, or neck. Many headaches originate from increased tension in the suboccipital area that has an effect on the Greater Occipital nerve. Once more serious conditions are ruled out with MRI, try conservative treatment to ease the tension in the neck, traps and suboccipital muscles. See a good chiropractic physician or neurologist in your area to diagnose the cause and get it treated.
