Those isolated or separated from normal brain tissue are much easier to remove whereas those embedded into the brain are much more complicated and carry more serious risks and side effects. There's always rare but still possible risk such as excessive bleeding, infection and reaction to anesthesia. Talk to your doctor / surgeon and ask as many questions as you can come up with. Unless you were unconscious and had documented brain trauma which would have been documented by a brain scan which would have been done at that time when you incurred your injury it is highly unlikely that personality changes are related to such.Personality changes may have a genetic ( familial) component; However significant head trauma can exacerbate or make worse such.I hope this offers some understanding and guidance.
