There have been many studies that support acupuncture as a treatment for knee pain. Here is one of many studies...note that it does conclude that there is only short-term pain relief in patients with chronic knee pain due to osteoarthritis. Your situation would have to be evaluated...you are young, so, without actually seeing you, I would say that it could be very effective:
