I am not aware of any Scientific Research as to massage helping straightening Scoliosis at all. Nor have I heard of any anecdotal evidence either of this helping. Yet, I am pretty sure that the massage treatment would give you some temporary relief and I would highly recommend you get massage therapy as it has a number of positive effects. Sometimes Chiropractic Treatment can help straighten a Scoliosis. There is research on that fact and also I have personally seen many patients throughout my career that have had corrective straightening of their Scoliosis. I have had a few that didn’t respond with straightening of their Scoliosis, but at least received pain relief and the Scoliosis did not get any worse. This is without the use of any Bracing, just Chiropractic specific Adjustments and traction of the intersegmental spinal joints effected by the Scoliosis. There are types of misalignment and Scoliosis that I can tell after an X-Ray that will not straighten as a result of Chiropractic treatments, although these are the minority of patients I have seen in the past 28 years. Call me at 336-773-1177 to schedule a complimentary Consultation including you bring in any Imaging studies that we can review together to see if I can help you at all with your Scoliosis. I look forward to hearing from you and trying to help you.

Sorry to hear that your knee hurts. You may have injured your knee, or just bruised it. If it is just a superficial bruise, then it should heal up on it’s own during the next week or so. You can elevate your knee over the level of your heart by applying ice (clothing between skin and ice pack) for approximately 20 minutes to decrease swelling. If your knee continues to bother you or the pain is severe enough that you cannot put pressure on it when standing, then seek a professional examination from a Healthcare Provider. I would be happy to help you, or you can see your Primary Care Physician for help.

Yes in many situations we can help knee arthritis. If the knee joint isn’t moving normally, there are simple painless Chiropractic adjustments that can be given to the knee joint. Also, 25% of all the bones in your skeleton are in your feet. The feet support the knees and if there is a loss of normal joint motion within these feet joints, can cause Knee pain. Many chiropractors are trained to give an adjustment to the feet joints to allow patients a return of normal joint motion within their feet which alleviates the knee pain in many patients. We also can provide Laser Therapy to the Knee and Ultrasound Therapy too. Both help to reduce inflammation in the knee. Laser Therapy can help bring blood flow to the knee, therefore allowing the cells in the Knee joint to receive the necessary oxygen needed for cellular respiration that is required by all cells. This can facilitate the healing of the soft tissues (meniscus, ligaments, and tendons) within the knee joint.

It depends on how your Spine needs to be “fixed”. While no Health Care practitioner can promise a “cure”, Chiropractic treatment in general terms, is good for your Spine by increasing the motion to spinal joints that are “stuck”. All spinal joints are meant to move. They should have free mobility without any restrictions. When a spinal joint is not moving, it will lead to accelerated degeneration (arthritis) in the joints affected. Also, the nerve receptors in the joint not moving, are not able to send the Brain the proper feedback from the body. The Brain then integrates this improper input and causing the Brains output to be faulty. This can affect balance, reaction time, and other necessary bodily functions.
