So it is caused by specific or specific groups of bacteria which cause a host response or your gums reacting to those bacteria. Retention of food debris around the gums can be a component of dental plaque,which is a film of bacteria and their toxins and waste products and of course can contain food debris. Foods can therefore indirectly contribute to but not cause gingivitis. Any food that has debris left around the teeth can contribute to not cause gingivitis.

Some obstetricians suggest using local anesthetic with out epinephrine which is not uncommon in use. Even with epinephrine local dental anesthetic has been long standing proven safe for treatment of pregnant patients in our small doses used.

The position of the tooth in the mouth - some teeth receive more stress than others. The material used - there is some slight difference in longevity of materials. Biggest factors can relate to the patient. Home care, maintenance, do you floss and brush properly and receive regular dental maintenance from a professional. Diet - am I consuming acidic drinks or foods on a continual basis through out my day which increases the rate of failure of teeth and restorations.
